June’s 30 Day Challenge: Play Piano Every Day

May’s 30 Day Challenge of learning improvisational skills was quite a useful one. I read the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Improv handbook from cover to cover throughout the 30 day span. Although I didn’t attend any hands-on improv classes, I tried my best to “get nerdy” and play improv games with my friends when we were all just hanging out.
People assumed I was doing this challenge to become a comedian. That definitely wasn’t the case. And it’s not the purpose of these types of challenges in general. These types of activities are designed to both be useful in all aspects of life and entertaining along the way.

I definitely had fun and will adapt some of my learnings for my everyday benefit.

As for the month of June, I’m going back to a musical instrument. I’ve plugged in my old keyboard and have already prepped for a month of increased learning. I will undoubtedly play everyday. What remains to be seen is whether I decide to learn more chords, learn songs, or just create my own original melodies.

We’ll have to see how it pans out. I’m just excited to be back on the keys again.

Maybe I’ll become as good as this guy:
