I like the idea of having two variables diverging to become even more unique, yet more and more efficient.
I call the concept Dichotomies of Scale.
The incremental improvements that are made on either side of plane can be astronomical. The interesting question then becomes "does their equal impact create a balance" at a more macro level?
Some things just become more efficient the farther apart they are. This applies to both business operations, as well as people and relationships.
